Where Your Support Goes

Every gift you give helps build a strong, stable foundation for our students, our teachers, and our future. This page shows exactly how your generosity is used—from daily classroom needs and nutritious meals, to the people who guide and care for our children, to the long-term vision of building a new school. Together, these investments make it possible for Little Mountain School to provide education, dignity, and hope to children and families in rural Guatemala.

This year LMS is adding the eighth grade which requires the hiring of qualified teachers, books, supplies, and the furnishing of an additional classroom. The expected impact on the budget is projected to be a 51% increase in expenditure for the current school year.

Our teachers and staff are the heart of Little Mountain School. This investment provides fair wages for dedicated educators, administrators, staff, and support personnel. Their work goes far beyond academics—they model stability, compassion, and hope in communities where opportunity is limited. Supporting our team means ensuring quality education, and a safe environment for children.

Food for Students

For many of our students, school meals are the most reliable source of nutrition they receive. This funding provides two nourishing meals each day, helping children stay focused, healthy, and ready to learn. Food is not just sustenance—it is dignity, stability, and love made tangible. A full stomach allows a child to fully engage in the classroom and grow both physically and mentally.

Teaching Supplies

From books and notebooks to art materials and classroom tools, teaching supplies equip our educators to deliver engaging, effective lessons. These resources allow creativity, curiosity, and hands-on learning to flourish. Every pencil, workbook, and learning aid plays a role in opening a child’s mind to new possibilities.

They ensure a clean, functional, and welcoming environment where children can learn with dignity.

New School Project

ESTIMATED COST
$

The existing school was designed for students from Pre-Kindergarten to 5th grade.  Currently the school houses the 5th & 6th grade. Traditionally the older students are schooled separately from the younger students.  A new school is needed for the 5th through the 11th grades. In 2026 a capital campaign will be started to fund the building of the new school.

As our student body grows and demand increases, we must expand. This investment will help build a new school facility that provides additional classrooms, improved infrastructure, and space for more students. It is not just a building—it is a promise of opportunity, stability, and hope for generations to come.

The new school represents our commitment to:

  • Serve more children
  • Improve learning conditions
  • Strengthen long-term sustainability
  • Build a future where education breaks cycles of poverty

Together, these needs form a complete picture of what it takes to educate, nourish, and uplift children—today and for years to come.
