Teacher’s Day: Celebrating the Whole Team
At The Little Mountain School, every staff member plays a role in shaping young hearts and minds—from educators to cooks to administrators. On Teacher’s Day, students surprised each staff member with handmade artwork featuring their own painted handprints.
The celebration continued with breakfast, laughter, games, a train ride, and even ATV rides. It was a joyful reminder that this school is built on love, gratitude, and community.
A First-Ever Father’s Day Celebration
For the first time in the school’s history, a Father’s Day celebration was held for families. Dads and children worked side-by-side building benches, played soccer, raced in sacks, and proudly wore neckties for the occasion.
The day ended with families sharing traditional Guatemalan dishes prepared by the mothers—a powerful moment of connection, dignity, and belonging.
Forming Character on the Hillside
Sixth-grade students hiked to a nearby hill as an exercise in perseverance, teamwork, and patience. Seventh-grade students also went on a hike designed to foster a love of reading and a deeper connection with nature. Sometimes, the best classroom is under the open sky.
Little Guardians of the Planet
Through a partnership with the Ministry of the Environment, students participated in a three-part workshop focused on caring for the earth. They received diplomas, caps, and T-shirts, and walked away with a renewed sense of purpose as young stewards of their world.
Every one of these moments tells the story of a school filled with joy, character formation, gratitude, and community.
