Learning, Celebration, and Community at The Little Mountain School

This past month at The Little Mountain School in Guatemala has been filled with meaningful moments of learning, celebration, and growth. Each activity reflects a vibrant school community where students are supported not only academically, but physically, socially, and culturally. Here are a few highlights from the month.

Healthy Students, Bright Futures

In partnership with the local health center, students participated in a vaccination campaign designed to safeguard their health. Ensuring that children are protected from preventable illness helps create a stable environment where they can focus fully on learning, playing, and growing each day.

Celebrating Guatemala’s Independence

With pride and enthusiasm, the school community commemorated Guatemala’s Independence Day. Students represented national symbols, reenacted the signing of the Act of Independence, and created civic altars to honor their country’s history. The celebration was filled with joy, respect, and a deep sense of cultural identity.

Strengthening Skills Through Workshops

To support continued growth among staff, a professional facilitator led a conflict resolution workshop for teachers and team members. This training strengthened communication and social skills, equipping the staff to better support one another and the students they serve.

Each of these moments contributes to a school environment where children are healthy, engaged, and supported by a team committed to their well-being and development.
